Wrap a soft tape measure (or a piece of string, then measure it against a ruler) around your dog's neck where the collar sits, snug but not tight. Then pick the size whose range includes that number. Our size guide walks through it step by step.

The ranges overlap on purpose. Choose the size where your dog's measurement sits closer to the middle of the range; if it's a coin toss, size down for a snug, secure fit — you should still be able to fit two fingers under the collar.

As a rough guide: XS fits toy breeds like chihuahuas and yorkies; S fits small dogs like mini dachshunds and terriers; M fits medium dogs like beagles and cocker spaniels; L fits large dogs like labs, goldens and huskies. Always go by the tape measure, not the breed.

Named designs follow the pattern shown, but each collar is handmade, so the weave lands a little differently on every piece. The Surprise / Assorted collar is an artisan's-choice design, so you'll receive a one-of-a-kind pattern.

Try to keep it dry: water can warp leather and felt the wool. Take it off for swims and baths, spot-clean with a damp cloth and let it air-dry away from heat.
