1. Who we are
BohoBarks is a small business run by a sole proprietor in Durango, Colorado. This policy explains what personal information we collect through bohobarks.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the shop:
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message.
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you join our email list, we receive your email address.
- Order details. When you buy, we receive what you ordered and the shipping details needed to send it. Orders are placed through our Etsy shop today, and through Stripe if we turn on on-site checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data. We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies or similar identifiers and reports things like pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type.
- Your bag. The items in your shopping bag are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). They are not sent to us until you check out.
3. How we use it
We use your information to answer your messages, fulfil and ship your orders, send the newsletter you asked for, keep the site secure and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
4. Service providers
We rely on a few trusted providers, and each handles information under its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare hosts and secures the site, including Turnstile spam protection on our forms.
- Brevo delivers our email, including the newsletter and notifications of your messages.
- Google Analytics provides site usage reports.
- Etsy processes orders placed through our Etsy shop, under Etsy's own terms and privacy policy.
- Stripe would process card payments if we enable on-site checkout.
We share information with these providers only as needed for them to do their job.
5. We don't sell your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it if the law requires, or to protect our rights, our customers or the site.
6. Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers to tell us how many people visit and which pages they read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across all sites. Blocking cookies will not stop you from browsing or ordering.
7. Email and the newsletter
We only send the newsletter to people who sign up. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We will still send messages about an order or a question you asked us.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires, for example for order and tax records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove what identifies you.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop emailing you, through our contact form. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can. You can also control cookies through your browser, as described above.
10. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS connections and spam protection on our forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
